Outside my window::
It’s clear and cold. Brrrr.
Wearing::
A red cashmere sweater; navy blue tights under brown boot-cut pants; wool socks; nutmeg colored boots. It’s COLD today—3 at lunchtime with the wind chill—so I’m doing tried-and-true layers.
Reading::
The Painted Girls (on my Nook); re-reading Mother Teresa and Me. Last week I read What to do when Jesus is Hungry, about the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, and I highly recommend it! A lot of food for thought and timely with Lent coming up shortly.
In the CD player::
A mix CD of rock songs. Because when it’s cold, you need good music.
Creating::
More novel stuff—writing and re-writing some scenes. Also have ideas for my next two writing projects.
Cooking::
Gosh, I’m getting so bad at my meal planning. I need to refocus! But this week it’s going to be mostly warm, homey things: soup tonight, and maybe lemon pasta tomorrow, to remind me of summer.
Praying::
For my family; friends in school and seminary.
Living the Liturgy::
I have found that when I say the Hours daily, at set times, my life is a lot better. A LOT, lot better. So I’m rededicating myself to saying lauds, vespers, office of readings, and compline, if I remember (I take my breviary with me to work, so I have to remember to say compline before I pack it in my work bag).
Plans for the week::
Surprisingly, not much. The calendar is wide-open, which is good for hibernation. Gives me time to do audition prep.
Working out::
Circuit training continues. Hopefully it’ll be warmer on Thursday so I won’t freeze going to the gym !

What do you have to do for the next writing projects or is that still up in the air.
One is a YA novel about a high school junior who spends the summer with her grandmother, whom she doesn’t really know and who doesn’t really like her! The other is sort of coalescing.
Awesome! Hopefully they are not anti-raisin lovers
I find I’m the same with the daily office too. If it goes undone, I don’t seem sufficiently grounded in my priorities, you know? (Love how you lay this post out too!)
Thanks, Leanne! It’s funny how the office grounds us, isn’t it? It’s almost like an alarm clock going off.
