Testing, testing…

So today was the normal yearly testing of the body to make sure everything works. πŸ™‚ This included:

  1. CXR: Normal chest x-ray
  2. Bone scan: To make sure I’m not deteriorating skeletally. πŸ™‚
  3. CT scan of the chest (non contrast, yay)
  4. VQ scan in nuclear medicine, to see how gases, etc. are distributed throughout the lungs.
  5. Full PFTs, as usual—higher! Yay!
  6. Vitals—lost SIX POUNDS! Double yay!
  7. blood work (port access)
  8. ECHO—this was regularly scheduled but I think we took a bit more time with it since my heart has been, um, freaky lately. πŸ™‚ But all is well there.
  9. Abdominal ultrasound (u/s): to check out that always fun area

So yeah, I was a guinea pig deluxe today. But all was well (at least, what I saw) and we head into Year Six fully ready to rock and roll…

At some point: appointment with cardiology to follow-up from the CTICU incident…and an endocrinologist…not sure what’s up w/ the thyroid right now. We’ll see!

The Simple Woman’s Daybook–August 9, 2010

Outside my window…Another HOT, sunny day here in the OH.

I am thinking…That I’m glad I lost 6 pounds! πŸ™‚

I am thankful for…vacation.

From the kitchen…lots of things from The Outer Banks Cookbook. Shrimp and beer is on tap for tomorrow, I think. πŸ™‚

I am wearing...Pitt sweatpants and a J.Jill camisole. Just got out of the bath. πŸ™‚

I am creating...ORDER. Again. I feel all “back to school”-ish, so I really am working on creating a schedule, creating filing systems, etc.

I am reading… To The Lighthouse; Emma; Little Dorrit; The Southern Woman.

To live the liturgy…The office. Always! And getting back into the daily Mass habit.

I am hoping…for a good first day back at work tomorrow!

In the CD player…Just got—Sarah McLachlan’s Laws of Illusion. Excited to hear.

Around the house…vaccuming…cleaning off the kitchen table.

One of my favorite things… sunshine

A few plans for the rest of the week… W: Voice; Sat.: Dentist. Not a whole lot going on, easing back into life. πŸ™‚

On the porch of Duck’s Cottage (AKA heaven on earth), with a Mucky Duck (coffee drink). A perfect afternoon.
