Sort-of Simple Woman’s Daybook–November 25, 2010

I’m in a random mood today, so random Daybook-ness. 🙂

What I’m Listening to: Josh Groban’s new CD, Illuminations. Really great! Yes, I love Josh (I sort of want to marry him…he’s not that much older than me!), but this is a super-great album. He wrote most of the songs, and there’s even a song in Portuguese! (Which is a totally underutilized language.) And James Newton Howard did some of the arrangements! And one of my other favorite artists, Loreena McKennit, has a new CD out tomorrow! A good week for CDs.

What I’m Reading: Durable Goods, by Elizabeth Berg. If you want a good Christmas-y book, read her The Handmaid and the Carpenter, about Mary and Joseph. Good stuff.

What I’m Watching: Mad Men. Oh my gosh. Mad Men. I’m on Season 1 now. This is good. stuff. And I want to dress like all the women. 🙂  Which leads to…

This week’s happiness: This dress, from Shabby Apple. Very sixties-ish, I think. And the color! MMMM! So perfect for late fall/winter.

Outside my window: Gray and windy. Very fall.

To Live the Liturgy: The usual goodness—Mass, rosary, Magnificat, and getting ready for Advent…(can’t believe it’s almost Advent!)

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: Voice and choir on Wednesday, dance on Thursday, Harry Potter sometime this weekend!!!!! (Book Seven remains one of the few books that made me cry.)

From the Kitchen: No idea. I’m thinking sesame noodles tonight, and then Chicken Salad Veronique again…at some point. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday…
