- One of my favorite novels is Lydia Cassat Reading the Morning Paper, in which the protagonists are Lydia and her famous sister, Mary, who was an Impressionist. The sisters’ friendship with painter Edgar Degas forms some of the plot. So this article was interesting to me: Edgar painting Mary.
